Chapter 30 Team Building

After neatly packing her luggage, Wen Jiu prepared to go out and look for Xie Meng. Just as she reached the lobby, Xie Meng sent her a message, suggesting they go for a stroll together later. Since she was still unfamiliar with the surroundings, Wen Jiu agreed.

Together with Xie Meng, Wen Jiu explored the hill behind the hotel, wandering near the hot spring pools and finding the conditions quite impressive. At noon, all departments gathered for lunch at the hotel, and afterwards everyone went their separate ways. Wen Jiu chose to visit the hot spring pool in the evening, selecting a private small pool for herself.

After soaking for nearly half an hour, Wen Jiu got ready to return to the hotel. Once she had changed and reached the entrance, she found herself at the end of a long corridor. Looking up, she saw Gu Zehuai emerging from a private room at the opposite end. The two met face to face.

Wen Jiu wasn’t surprised; she’d already learned that morning they were here as well. Upon seeing her, Gu Zehuai’s previously impassive face softened into a smile as he greeted her. “I heard from Ah Yi this morning that Jing Yan came here for a team building event.”

Wen Jiu nodded, smiling as she replied, “Yes, what a coincidence. Le Han is here too, right? I’ll find her tonight to hang out.” After a few casual exchanges, they parted ways, each heading in opposite directions back to their rooms.

Wen Jiu took a quick shower in her room, finally feeling a bit refreshed.

At that moment, Lin Lehan also messaged her. “Sister Jiu, I heard from Brother Yi that you’re at the hot spring hotel too. If you’re free tonight, I’ll come find you to hang out (=^▽^=).” Wen Jiu checked the company group chat for any scheduled activities but found none, so she replied to Lin Lehan with an affirmative.

After sending her reply, Wen Jiu applied a light touch of makeup, making her look even more vibrant. Night quickly fell. Lin Lehan sent another message: “Sister, which floor are you on? I’ll come find you, and then we can head to the private room together.”

Wen Jiu answered, “Fifth floor, Room 524. Just come over.” She even sent a sticker expressing closeness. Soon, there was a knock at the door. Wen Jiu looked through the peephole before opening it.

As soon as the door swung open, Lin Lehan handed Wen Jiu a cup of milk tea. “Sister Jiu, I ordered this milk tea for you.” Wen Jiu accepted it with a smile, “Thank you, I really like this milk tea.” Its reputation and flavor were both excellent; Wen Jiu ordered it from time to time, always choosing this particular kind.

The two sat in Wen Jiu’s room, chatting for a while. Lin Lehan was clearly excited. “Sister, when I came over with the others, I thought it was such a shame you and Sister Xiaxia weren’t here. If you were, we could all play together. But now, it’s perfect—we can still have fun together.”

Wen Jiu replied with a cheerful grin, “I didn’t expect the coincidence either.” Suddenly, Lin Lehan’s phone chimed; it was a message from Pei Yi. “Lehan, bring Jiu along and come to the private room to hang out.” After replying with a yes, Lin Lehan moved closer to tell Wen Jiu.

At the same moment, Wen Jiu’s phone vibrated: “Would you like to come to the private room?” It was Gu Zehuai.

After confirming with Lin Lehan, Wen Jiu agreed, and together they headed to the top-floor private room.

The presidential suite on the top floor was reserved especially for their group, not open to outsiders. There was also a large private lounge up there, set up by Pei Yi for gatherings, which was where everyone assembled. When Wen Jiu and Lin Lehan arrived, Pei Yi and the other three were already seated on the sofa.

Seeing them enter, Pei Yi warmly invited them to sit. Wen Jiu happened to sit directly across from Gu Zehuai, with a small table between them.
