Luo Si suddenly struck, charging behind Wu Jue without the slightest warning and delivering a deadly blow.

Yet Wu Jue’s body stood as firm as a mountain, unmoved where he was.

“Such a petty trick, and you think you can ambush me?” Wu Jue roared. Two short cannons, brimming with devastating firepower, instantly emerged from his back. A pair of icy beams erupted toward Luo Si.

The violent impact sent Luo Si flying. Wu Jue turned around as though nothing had happened and said, “Luo Si, you can no longer hurt me!”

Enraged, Luo Si released the poison within his body the moment he landed. Just as he was about to charge again, someone nearby gave a mocking chuckle.

“I was wondering what sort of ally Desai had found. It turns out he’s nothing more than someone else’s defeated subordinate. Tell me, what can a gathering of defeated remnants like us possibly accomplish?”

Turning his head, Luo Si saw Ghostface Guang standing there in nothing but a pair of shorts, his bare chest painted with a bizarre smiling face as he sneered contemptuously.

“You again? If you’re not going to help, then shut up!” Luo Si unleashed all his fury upon him and charged forward, intent on fighting Ghostface Guang.

The other man abruptly stepped back and said, “Heh heh, what good would fighting me do? Your target is Wu Jue. Look—the rest of his friends have arrived.”

As he spoke, Princess An Yi and Gao Lin came rushing up from behind. Princess An Yi lunged straight at Luo Si and sent him flying with a savage punch.

Gao Lin, meanwhile, had already drawn an arrow and aimed it at Ghostface Guang. The arrow shot forth with a sharp whistle. Fortunately, Ghostface Guang reacted quickly, rolling aside just in time to evade it.

But after the arrow struck the ground, thick smoke began pouring from its tip. It was poisonous vapor capable of paralyzing a person. Covering his mouth, Ghostface Guang cried out, “Damn it! He actually used this trick!”

When Wu Jue saw that everyone had arrived, warmth filled his heart. But Gao Lin did not stop after landing his first shot. He continued to point his arrow toward the front and said tensely, “Wu Jue, be careful. There’s a ghost pretending to be one of your friends. It has infiltrated our ranks, and it’s extremely dangerous.”

The instant he finished speaking, a fierce wind stirred behind him, as though someone had lunged at his back. Gao Lin swiftly dodged and loosed an arrow over his shoulder.

The arrow sliced through the air. In an instant, sparks burst forth, revealing the ghost’s form. It was brandishing a sharp sword and snarling threateningly at Gao Lin.

“You damned fool! Die before me!”

Little Han shot forward like lightning. In the blink of an eye, he appeared before the ghost and used reflected light to reveal its position. Then he seized the ghost’s insubstantial body and hurled it away with all his strength.

“Let me keep you company.”

He immediately became locked in combat with the ghost.

Before long, every one of the helpers Desai had summoned had been engaged by someone. Watching it all from inside the warship, Desai flew into a furious rage.

Wu Jue witnessed his comrades fighting and turned back toward the warship.

“Desai, do you see this? Your plan will never succeed! You may be able to summon a pack of lackeys, but I have my own most reliable friends to aid me. They are my shield!”

With that, he leaped toward the warship and charged viciously at Desai.

“Damn you! I’ll show you what I’m capable of!”

Desai slapped the armrest of his seat and instantly soared into the air, emerging outside the warship. He leaped skyward, and a pair of gray wings unfolded from his back. Circling overhead, he called out, “Wu Jue, if you have the courage, fight me in the air!”

“There’s no need for Wu Jue to fight you personally. I can grant your wish!”

Huron’s voice appeared from nowhere. Transforming into a massive roc, he swooped down and pecked at Desai.

Desai flapped his wings. A particle cannon appeared in his hand, and he aimed it at Huron before firing.

Fortunately, Huron twisted his body in time and evaded the attack. He then transformed into a giant python and violently coiled around Desai, squeezing him until he could scarcely breathe.

“Never underestimate the power of friendship. When your enemies unite, they can become truly terrifying!”

Huron tightened his coils even further. Seeing his opportunity, Wu Jue leaped into the air and revealed a massive, razor-sharp battle-axe, bringing it down in a single savage strike.

“Huron, get clear!”

But at that very moment, a gigantic particle cannon opened on the warship and fired into the sky. Its overwhelming blast struck the three of them head-on. Fortunately, Huron quickly released Desai, and he and Wu Jue shot away, narrowly escaping the bombardment.

Desai, however, was caught in the fire. His body turned to ash and scattered through the air.

Was it really over?

Wu Jue hovered in midair, momentarily stunned. But the enemy warship still remained, and the battle was far from finished. More zombies surged out, swarming toward everyone.

Wu Jue did not pause. His powerful battle armor flared into action, revealing dozens of gun barrels. He gathered the formidable energy within his body and converted it into a devastating barrage, which he unleashed upon the warship.

After one volley, the warship below was nearly blasted out of shape. The zombies inside fled in panic, while the vessel itself seemed to begin changing form.

Huron shouted from the air, “Be careful! The Heavenly Execution Clan’s warship may be shifting into attack mode. Wu Jue, use the full power of your armor and destroy it!”

Wu Jue immediately plunged downward, raised his enormous battle-axe, and hacked at the warship.

The blow struck the front of the vessel and cleaved more than half a meter into it. Before the force of the strike had dissipated, a pair of hands suddenly burst from the warship and seized the axe handle, shoving it outward with tremendous strength.

A gigantic figure tore free and thundered out of the warship. Wu Jue took a quick look and saw a warrior clad in battle armor much like his own standing before him. He retreated at once, gathered his energy in his palm, and transformed it into a long staff, sweeping it horizontally toward his opponent.

The monster did not hesitate. He swung the battle-axe in reverse, blocking Wu Jue’s invisible staff, and shouted, “Wu Jue, still alive, I see. We meet again!”

The opponent’s sinister heavy armor came fully into view. It was none other than General Gumu, resurrected from the dead.

Wu Jue’s face darkened. “Gumu, weren’t you supposed to be dead?”

“Dead?” General Gumu threw back his head and laughed, swinging his battle-axe in a fierce assault. “The warriors of the Heavenly Execution Clan are immortal. You still didn’t know that?”

The two clashed with a thunderous roar, stirring countless battles throughout the surrounding battlefield. Wu Jue soon realized that Gumu’s combat strength had increased enormously. The armor he wore was far more advanced than before, and even the weapons he wielded no longer relied solely on the icy energy of the past.

Wu Jue failed to evade one attack and was struck by a particle cannon. His armor seemed to be tearing itself away from his body. He staggered backward several steps and stopped, breathing heavily.

“How does it feel? Unexpected, isn’t it?” Gumu strode forward with a laugh. “Don’t forget—the armor you wear was stolen from me. I can reclaim it whenever I wish. Now die!”

He raised the battle-axe again and brought it down. Just as Wu Jue was about to meet the blow head-on, a colossal wave suddenly swept through the air and crashed into Gumu, forcing him back four or five steps.

“Arrogant machine, this is no place for you to run wild!”

A young man’s voice rang out from behind Wu Jue. It was Ao Hai of the Dragon Clan, who had arrived at last.

Ao Hai unleashed his ultimate technique, immediately helping to halt Gumu’s assault. Wu Jue also saw even more reinforcements appearing around them.

Fu Yuan and Alice, who had departed earlier, had returned and joined the battle, engaging the Heavenly Execution Clan’s zombies in fierce combat. Little Han, who had been battling one of Desai’s summoned ghosts, was replaced by Flash Spirit. The two ghost-type experts now fought furiously in the air.

“I heard you’ve been using my name. That’s hardly a friendly beginning, is it?”

Flash Spirit suddenly activated his power to stop time, instantly dragging his opponent into his own domain and tormenting him mercilessly.

Seeing this, Wu Jue felt his blood heat with renewed battle spirit. Facing Gumu’s challenge, he said coldly, “Do you see now? This is the fighting spirit of Earth’s people. You can never defeat us!”

He flashed forward and attacked Gumu once more. Gumu had only just broken free of Ao Hai’s assault, but now he unleashed his full strength and met Wu Jue head-on.

Elsewhere, a tremendous roar erupted from within the Heavenly Execution Clan’s warship. The vessel, already split apart, began collapsing completely, breaking into countless fragments as though being torn apart by a mighty force.

The zombies who had not yet escaped, along with those gathered around the warship, were crushed beneath the falling wreckage. They were slaughtered in an instant, their corpses twisted and mangled beyond recognition.

There was no need to ask.

The God of Death had arrived.

Using his invisible power, he had reduced the Heavenly Execution Clan’s warship to utter ruin.

Witnessing the scene, Gumu erupted in fury.

“Who are you? Who dares oppose me? Show yourself!”

Before he could finish, a hollow voice drifted down from the air.

“If you wish to know my name, only the dead may learn it. Are you willing to die here and now?”

At once, the armor covering Gumu’s body began to disintegrate. Piece by piece, it fell away, leaving him utterly defenseless.

Seizing the moment, Wu Jue and Ao Hai attacked together. Riding upon Ao Hai’s heaven-rending waves, Wu Jue suddenly condensed a unique battle intent, which took the form of a snow-white spear in his hand. He thrust it straight through Gumu’s chest.

The spear pierced completely through his body, its tip coated in a strange, freezing aura. As Gumu roared madly, Wu Jue stared at him blankly and said, “From the next second onward, you will cease to exist.”

In an instant, the mighty battle intent altered the space and time surrounding Gumu, restoring everything to its original state.

Gumu’s body began to shrink and regress, reverting step by step toward the form he had possessed at the moment of his birth. Incredibly, he ultimately transformed into a peculiar purple crystal egg, which dropped to the ground.

Wu Jue and the others stopped at the same time, staring at the crystal egg that had suddenly appeared.

“So the resurrected Gumu was actually a clone!”
