Whether Qiao Xi was willing or not, she could not refuse. If she did, who knew what bigger trouble he might stir up.

As she stood, she turned to look at Chou Yi. Chou Chou mouthed at her, "Is it Er Nan?"

She nodded.

"I knew it," Shan Chou Chou thought to herself. The only one who could make such a scene was probably that hopelessly foolish Er Nan. "Teacher, may I go too?" she asked, rising to her feet.

"What do you need to go for?" the teacher asked.

"Because I know that person too, and I’m afraid Qiao Xi won’t be able to handle him alone," Shan Chou Chou explained.

The teacher also did not want to keep disturbing the class, so he said, "Then hurry along. Once it’s settled, come right back to class."

"Understood." Shan Chou Chou answered obediently, and together with Qiao Xi, followed the male student to Class Three, Section One.

At the moment, Class Three, Section One was lively indeed. On the platform, beside the teacher, there was also a boy leaning both hands on the lectern, cupping his face in his palms as he blinked at the students below with eyes that seemed innocent, or perhaps ingenuous. The students beneath were whispering to one another, and some girls could not help blushing as they said things like, "What a beautiful, adorable boy."

Some people were like that: obviously full of roguishness, yet able to deceive everyone simply because they had a handsome face.

In truth, Shan Chou Chou found his utterly guileless, saintly act the most unbearable of all. It was simply begging to be hit.

"Hey, rotten Er Nan, would you die if you stopped acting for once?" Her voice arrived before she did. She could not suppress her anger and shouted at him. Old grievances and new were all boiling up, making her want nothing more than to rush up and kick him—if there had not been an elderly teacher standing on the platform.

Nan Zi Xi turned his gaze toward her, still wearing that pure and harmless expression. "So fierce. Too bad you’re flat."

His words drew a burst of laughter from below. Shan Chou Chou was furious beyond reason. It was one thing for him to say such things in private, but now he had actually said them in front of so many students. If she did not explode, she would not be a girl.

"You’re asking for death. Just watch me beat you till your teeth are all over the floor today!" she snapped, already rolling up her sleeves and charging over.

Seeing this, the teacher hurried forward to stop her. "Student, calm down. Impulse cannot solve the problem."

"Damn it, I don’t care about that. Even if I get expelled, I’m still going to beat him up," Shan Chou Chou said, and there was no reason left in her at all.

"Ooooh, so this is what it looks like when girls get angry. How terrifying, I’m scared to death." Nan Zi Xi patted his chest as though frightened.

"You keep acting!" Unchecked by the teacher’s obstruction, Shan Chou Chou forced her way forward, nearly knocking the teacher over.

"That’s enough, both of you. Shut up, all of you!" Qiao Xi barked coldly.

In an instant, Shan Chou Chou fell silent, while Nan Zi Xi only lifted his brows innocently.

Qiao Xi walked up to the teacher and bowed slightly. "I’m sorry. They took the joke too far. Please don’t blame them."

"It’s all right. Young people like to make a fuss," the teacher said, not angry in the least, still kind-faced and gentle.

"Thank you. We’ll be leaving now." After speaking, Qiao Xi immediately shot both of them a look.

Shan Chou Chou glared at Nan Zi Xi, then walked toward Qiao Xi. Nan Zi Xi clicked his tongue in boredom and followed after them.

Just as the three were about to leave, a boy suddenly called out, "Hey, you think you can just leave like that? People from Maple Field are really bold. Making trouble at Camellia Academy is one thing, but of all the classes you could pick, you had to pick the class of the student council president. What, did you do it on purpose?"

Only then did Qiao Xi remember that Yu Fan was in Class Three, Section One. She immediately turned her gaze toward the students below.
