“Cousin, Brother Ya, you’re both here! What are you talking about?” Xu Jia’er ran over, affectionately hooking her arm around Oya’s.

Because of the girls’ chatter in the corridor, more people who wanted to catch a glimpse of the handsome boys crowded in. Qiao Xi had no choice but to turn around and head back to the classroom.

Dan Chouchou watched as Qiao Xi entered the classroom, then turned to look downstairs. There, Xu Jia’er was leaning sweetly against Oya, and Oya didn’t seem to mind at all…

She blinked and muttered to herself, “Is Qiao Xi jealous?”

As soon as school was over, Gu Panxi came over. “Qiao Xi, Chouchou, let’s go eat. I didn’t have much for breakfast and I’m starving.”

Dan Chouchou was already hungry and moved quickly. “Let’s go.”

The three left the classroom together. Qiao Xi trailed behind, head slightly lowered.

Gu Panxi glanced back and asked Chouchou in a low voice, “What’s up with Qiao Xi?”

“What do you mean?”

“Don’t you think she’s really quiet today?”

“She’s always quiet, isn’t she?” Dan Chouchou replied, but she also turned to look at Qiao Xi. Was she actually even quieter than usual? “Could she really be jealous?” she muttered to herself.

“What do you mean, jealous?” Gu Panxi pressed curiously.

“Ah, nothing.”

“You definitely said something. Tell me! Does it have something to do with the vice president?” Gu Panxi couldn’t hide her curiosity about whether the vice president was really dating Qiao Xi.

Dan Chouchou was just about to change the subject when she saw the vice president and Xu Jia’er coming over, Xu Jia’er looking especially sweet.

As Qiao Xi walked, she noticed Chouchou had stopped and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Dan Chouchou was about to say it was nothing when Xu Jia’er spoke up. “Panxi, are you going to eat? Want to join us?”

Qiao Xi looked up and met Oya’s gaze.

Oya smiled faintly and nodded at her.

She returned the polite nod, then said to Chouchou, “Let’s go,” and headed for the stairs.

Dan Chouchou shot Xu Jia’er an annoyed look before following after Qiao Xi.

“Jia’er, I’ll leave you to it. I’m going ahead,” Gu Panxi said, knowing full well Jia’er wanted to be alone with the vice president and not wanting to be the third wheel.

The three quickly got their meals and sat at an empty table. Before long, Qian Yinyin joined them, her eyes fixed on Qiao Xi with the look of a fan meeting her idol. “Qiao Xi, you’re amazing! You look so thin, but you managed to beat so many people. You’re even more impressive than the rumors.”

Qiao Xi just smiled and said nothing.

Dan Chouchou wasn’t one to hold grudges, but she hadn’t forgotten what happened last Friday. Just thinking about it made her angry again, though she knew Qiao Xi didn’t want to cause more trouble, so she held her tongue. Still, she couldn’t help but mutter, “No sense of sportsmanship, bullying girls.”

“Who are you talking about?” Qian Yinyin asked.

“Who else? That useless student council president—always so protective, it’s just too much…”

“Chouchou,” Qiao Xi said, her tone calm but firm enough to make Chouchou fall silent.

She stopped talking, but Qian Yinyin and Gu Panxi picked up the topic.

“Everyone knows the president dotes on Jia’er. Qiao Xi, you even made Jia’er’s face swell up! There’s no way the president wouldn’t stand up for her. But thankfully, you’re tough. If it were anyone else, they’d be in the hospital by now,” Qian Yinyin said.

“But I doubt this matter will end just like that,” Gu Panxi whispered.
