Chapter Sixty-Nine: Madara’s Resurrection Succeeds
... When Orochimaru was forcibly summoned to the Origin World, on the island, Uchiha Madara’s corpse was also thrown into the Box of Bliss.
Kisame was astonished, “Aren’t you afraid of ruining Madara’s body?”
Uchiha Itachi’s expression remained calm. “No, I’m not.”
He was very confident. Though he had only just learned of the existence of the "悟" species, through fragmented information he had already deduced that every creature entering the Box of Bliss had the potential to become悟.
It was only because of the suppression and devouring by the悟named Wugou that others ended up as raw material.
Uchiha Itachi believed that once Uchiha Madara regained consciousness, the outcome would surely be different.
Kisame, unable to grasp the reasoning behind Itachi’s actions, watched the Box of Bliss in confusion, hoping to discern something from it.
Here, all four gates—Joy, Anger, Sorrow, and Happiness—were open, with immense suction sweeping in all directions. Those with weaker strength were swept into the Box of Bliss.
The悟that Wugou had become stood atop the box, roaring at the surroundings like a gorilla pounding its chest, arrogant and wild.
It had only existed for less than twenty minutes, yet already felt its power growing. If it survived for a month—or a hundred days—how powerful would it become?
It would likely grow strong beyond imagination!
It wanted to devour every living thing.
Just then, it heard a rattling sound coming from inside the Box of Bliss. Perplexed, it wondered what the noise was.
The Box of Bliss was a treasure from the era of the Sage of Six Paths, engraved with countless seals. By devouring enough life,悟would be born inside. If悟appeared, all other creatures would be converted into energy to empower悟.
This was a meticulously crafted chakra artifact; operational failures were impossible. Yet悟was puzzled, so it decided to dive inside the Box to investigate.
When Uchiha Madara’s corpse was sucked into the Box, the engraved seals drew in Madara’s soul, awakening him within.
“Hm... Has the plan begun?”
Madara had made an agreement with Pain: when the time was right, Pain would resurrect him. He thought that moment had come.
But upon awakening, he found his body flooded with destructive and terrifying energies, both trying to assimilate him.
“Hmph!” Madara snorted coldly, his will unwavering. He feared neither destruction nor terror; mere mortal power could hardly assimilate him—instead, he bent it to his own use.
“Where is this place?”
Madara found himself in a small space, surrounded by floating yellow seals, which were the source of destructive and terrifying energies.
“The plan has failed.”
At this point, Madara realized the plan had failed. He was resurrected, but not in the way he intended.
Madara wished to escape, so he kicked at the yellow seals, figuring that breaking them would let him out.
At that moment, a monster with a huge mouth entered.
The monster was悟, transformed from Wugou. Seeing a human attacking the seals, it was furious.
The seals were the source of its power and existence—without them, it would not exist. A mere human dared to threaten them!
Inside the Box of Bliss,悟ruled supreme, having completed its evolution. It could use the seals to suppress anything, so it tried to restrain Madara and then lunged at him.
After one exchange, it found itself pinned beneath Madara’s foot.
悟, transformed from Wugou: “...”
“What are you?” Madara asked. He didn’t recognize悟, but his gaze—which hid potent ocular power—revealed that this creature was connected to the surrounding seals, part of the same entity.
He also understood that he was originally meant to become this creature’s fodder.
“I am...”
Crack!
悟, transformed from Wugou, intended to play tricks and schemes, but before it could finish its sentence, Madara pressed down, crushing it completely.
It died utterly.
Madara, unsure what the creature was, simply stomped it to death.
With悟gone, a new悟would be born. All destructive and terrifying energies instantly surged into Madara’s body. Madara closed his eyes, relishing the rush of energy.
His body, once aged, grew young again as the energies poured in, until it reached its peak form.
Then Madara opened his eyes. With a mere glare, the Box of Bliss exploded without any apparent movement.
Outside, apart from Itachi and Kisame, only a few elders could resist the suction; everyone else—humans and creatures alike—seemed to face the apocalypse, about to be drawn into the Box.
Cries of terror echoed. At that moment, the Box detonated, and amid the fragments stood a man—Uchiha Madara!
Madara’s eyes were Sharingan, forged by destructive and terrifying energies, barely able to contain his ocular power.
He scanned the surroundings, finally fixing his gaze on Itachi and Kisame, for they were the strongest—and one of them possessed Sharingan.
These were the eyes of the Uchiha clan.
Kisame stared at Madara in disbelief. He was really alive!
But the Box of Bliss was the source of悟’s power—Madara had shattered it outright?
“Did you bring me back?” Madara asked, for he had died too early and only knew Obito and Black Zetsu, not the other members.
Itachi nodded.
Meanwhile, in the Origin World, the three Great Sages released senjutsu chakra, fusing it together and exposing the deep green energy pool they had woven from countless energies over centuries, seeking to return to their source.
At that moment, Madara on the island felt a pull.
“This power...”
It was familiar yet strange, reminiscent of senjutsu chakra. His body contained cells from Hashirama Senju, making him well acquainted with senjutsu chakra.
He could sense this attraction because his悟body linked his consciousness and flesh, granting him悟’s abilities.
The pull was irresistible, like a cat spying a mouse, a dog spotting a cat, or a recluse seeing a beautiful woman.
He formed seals with both hands, intending to use Reverse Summoning, but the pull brought him directly to the Origin World.
Just then, the Great Toad Sage, the White Snake Sage, and the Slug Sage pushed the stone statue of Orochimaru into the green energy pool.
Then they saw Madara.
“Oh,悟has been born,” said the Great Toad Sage.
The Box of Bliss was created during the era of the Sage of Six Paths; they knew of this treasure, which harnessed powers from secret realms.悟in its ultimate form was even stronger than the Nine Tails.
“It was probably drawn by the energy pool.悟also contains secret realm power, so it can be merged into the pool as well,” said the White Snake Sage.
Madara was indeed powerful, especially after merging悟’s abilities. He could now read minds through fear, but was unable to penetrate the thoughts of the three Sages.
He knew these three Sages, and they knew him. In his era, few did not know Madara, and the Sages who watched over the ninja world were no exception.
But that didn’t stop the three Sages from sealing him and tossing him into the energy pool.
Madara was powerful, but the three Sages, after countless centuries of cultivation, were even stronger.
He was pushed into the deep green energy pool alongside Orochimaru, sinking to the bottom together.
