Chapter 112: The Prophetic Arts of the Six Path Immortals
Madara Uchiha soared into the sky, rising to the same height as Orochimaru and the others, hovering beside him.
The Sage of Six Paths nodded in greeting to Madara.
Madara furrowed his brow. He recognized the Sage of Six Paths, but in his memory, the Sage had already perished. What was going on now?
“The Sage of Six Paths?” Madara inquired.
The Sage nodded, his gaze surprisingly warm. “Madara.”
A flash of disgust flickered in Madara’s eyes.
He knew he was a descendant of the Sage, but they had never met, separated by many generations. There was no reason for such familiarity, which only fueled Madara’s aversion to the Sage’s warm look.
Yet, in truth, the Sage’s warmth stemmed from the fact that Madara had, for a long time, been like a son to him...
Though Madara despised the Sage, he maintained a calm expression.
The Sage quickly withdrew his gaze, apologizing, “Alright, alright, I won’t look at you anymore.”
“Hm?”
The words immediately put Madara on alert. Mind-reading? Could he see what Madara was thinking?
Beside them, Orochimaru glanced at Madara and explained, “It’s prophecy.”
From the start, the Sage had displayed the power of prophecy openly, without concealing it.
“Prophecy?”
At that moment, Madara’s gaze shifted to the great toad Sage beneath the Six Paths, and to the white snake Sage and slug Sage held alongside.
Putting the slug Sage aside for now, legend held that the great toad Sage and the white snake Sage both possessed prophetic abilities.
Feeling Madara’s stare, the great toad, white snake, and slug Sages shamefully averted their eyes.
The Sage of Six Paths spoke, “Their power has limits. Since your births, they have been unable to foresee the future.”
“Births.” Orochimaru’s eyes flickered with understanding. The Sage referred to the moment he returned from the deep pool’s miniature world to the present realm. From that instant, the prophetic powers of the great toad and white snake Sages ceased.
They wielded forces surpassing those of the great toad and white snake Sages, so the loss of prophecy was only natural.
The Sage then pointed at the white snake Sage and slug Sage. “These two creatures are gifts for you — excellent mounts, after all, you cannot handle everything yourself.”
He gave the white snake Sage to Madara and the slug Sage to Orochimaru.
Then he continued, “I know, Orochimaru, you prefer snakes, but sometimes a change of pace is good. Slugs have benefits you’d never imagine.”
Neither the white snake nor the slug Sages dared resist.
The Sage then turned to Kin, Tō, and U, saying, “I will help you kill these three.”
Tō chuckled coldly. “You’re really courting death, ignoring me from the start? Flame Bird! Rock Ape!”
Two massive beasts suddenly appeared with a thunderous crash. These were Tō’s summons — a fiery red phoenix and a stone ape enveloped in molten lava.
They roared fiercely upon arrival, whipping up a foul wind.
These two summoning beasts were only one rank lower than the great toad and white snake Sages!
The Sage of Six Paths maintained a calm expression, extending a hand and making a fist gesture toward the Flame Bird and Rock Ape. Instantly, the fiery phoenix and stone ape were crushed by an invisible giant hand.
They could not resist at all — crushed with a single move.
Orochimaru’s eyes coldly regarded the Sage’s action. “What’s your reason?”
The Sage had captured the white snake and slug Sages, gifting them to Madara and Orochimaru, then actively struck to help kill three members of the Ōtsutsuki Clan. What exactly was his purpose?
“The reason,” the Sage smiled gently, “I told you before — you will bring peace to every corner of the universe. I love peace, so naturally, I help you.”
He paused, then added, “I can see your future — you are invincible, your rise unstoppable. Of course, I want to invest early and treat you well.”
His hand reached toward Tō, preparing to strike.
Tō braced as if facing a great enemy. The Sage’s attack method was unfathomable to him, impossible to counter. So he transformed, unleashing his strongest power, and produced a battered chakra fruit from somewhere, devouring several bites.
“Ah!”
Furious power erupted within Tō’s body. The white translucent veil over his head vanished, revealing hair standing like a white-haired witch’s, skin vivid red like a monster’s. He spread both hands, revealing two red Rinnegan eyes!
“Takamine Inari!” he shouted.
This was his signature technique: no matter what strange methods the enemy employed, he could absorb them into his body and then reflect them back, amplified. Foes often perished by their own techniques.
He unleashed this move against the Sage of Six Paths.
The Sage remained unmoved. Even facing transformed Tō, he lightly pinched from afar. Tō tried to absorb it with “Takamine Inari,” but strangely, his technique failed!
He only felt an invisible giant hand gripping his body, then crushing him flat — an unprecedented form of attack!
For the first time, he showed astonishment.
Orochimaru watched expressionlessly as Tō was crushed. “Sage of Six Paths, have you heard the saying? When the future is spoken, the future is no longer the future.”
After flattening Tō, the Sage turned to U. “The future I speak will inevitably come to pass, such as the deaths of these two Ōtsutsuki.”
Earlier, the Sage had foretold the deaths of Tō and U, saying their bodies would be turned into tools and sunk deep within the sun.
Now, it was coming true.
From the moment he saw Orochimaru, U had been secretly preparing his strongest technique. Seeing Madara’s appearance further awakened his potential, making this technique the strongest of his life.
His father had died by the hands of Orochimaru and Madara, fueling an unrelenting hatred.
He would avenge that grudge!
“Super Time Freeze!”
U hurled his fishing rod and basket — two red-glowing weapons modeled after his father’s arms, crafted to one day kill Orochimaru and Madara.
Midair, the two red weapons disintegrated, radiating intense red light that blotted out the sun. From the ground looking up, the entire sky turned crimson, darkening the horizon.
This was a time-sealing technique. U intended to seal time within this space, including himself.
“Whoosh!”
He transformed too, his aura wild and fierce. His transformation resonated with the time-sealing technique, amplifying its power.
The Sage of Six Paths still pinched toward U from afar, calmly saying, “Since I first mastered prophecy, I have never failed.”
His expression was indifferent, fully confident his words would come true.
Orochimaru retorted, “Oh? Is that so?”
He prepared to act.
