Chapter 115: The True Power of the Reincarnation Eye
On the Earth in transit through space, atop a mountain known as Ape Demon Mountain, the current Ape Demon King reverted from his form as a Vajra staff back to his original body.
He was the king of a clan famed as the “strongest summoning beast,” appearing as an ape who could transform into a Vajra staff.
At that moment, tears involuntarily streamed from his eyes. Clenching his fists as his body trembled slightly, he murmured, “I will not let your death be in vain. I will bring hope to you all!”
With a swift whoosh, he hurried to the mountain’s office cave and addressed an elder ape, “Go quickly and inform Lord Orochimaru that a life-bearing planet has been discovered!”
The elder ape was taken aback, looking up at his king in confusion—his own ruler had the ability to discover extraterrestrial worlds? How had he never known? In his mind, the king had always seemed to be all muscle and brute force.
Yet, seeing the tear stains on the Ape Demon King’s face, the elder was struck silent for a moment. He hurriedly asked for detailed information before rising to report the news through the illusion network.
The Ape Demon King remained alone in the office cave.
Watching the elder ape disappear into the distance, he shook his head and muttered to himself, “No, this won’t do. What if Lord Orochimaru doesn’t take it seriously?”
He dashed out of the cave, returned to his own den, packed his belongings, and prepared to personally journey to the War Castle.
Only then would he feel at ease.
...
Within the War Castle, the news from Ape Demon Mountain was relayed upward, eventually reaching Orochimaru, who took it with utmost seriousness.
A life-bearing planet represented resources, supplies, and the first step in understanding lifeforms beyond space—it demanded attention.
Orochimaru said solemnly, “Activate the Reincarnation Eye. Conduct a deep exploration.”
He immediately dispatched Kabuto Yakushi to arrange the “deep exploration” to investigate the potential life-bearing planet.
Having indulged in piloting Earth for a while, Orochimaru had already handed over control to Hyuga Hizashi. The Hyuga clan was naturally gifted with piloting skills—highly competent and trustworthy.
In the control room, Orochimaru, Uchiha Madara, Kabuto Yakushi, Kimimaro, and others gathered, preparing to activate the “deep exploration” for the first time.
All the walls around the room were transparent, displaying the vast expanse of space. Using a secret technique of the Yamanaka clan, Hizashi could link his mind to Orochimaru’s illusion network, thereby controlling the various moving castles and indirectly piloting Earth.
Orochimaru nodded and said, “Begin.”
At his words, all the lights in the room extinguished, plunging the space into darkness. Yet, the vast cosmic panorama displayed on the walls, ceiling, and floor became even clearer, immersing them as if truly adrift in space.
They could distinctly see ten suns and one moon orbiting nearby.
This was the Earth’s perspective.
Through a special method, the images from Earth’s viewpoint were refracted within the room.
At the room’s center, Hyuga Hizashi took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and upon opening them, his Byakugan activated. Veins bulged at the corners of his eyes, though his gaze was unfocused—he was seeing the illusion network’s projections.
He manipulated a tool fashioned from the corpse of an Ōtsutsuki clan member, indirectly controlling the ten suns and the moon. The ten suns and one moon spun rapidly until the moon faced directly forward, then halted.
The moon before them resembled a black eyeball.
A deep rumble resounded.
At that moment, a platform rose on the moon, atop which appeared a massive yellow eye—the Reincarnation Eye—facing straight ahead.
With a decisive “bang,” Hizashi activated the Reincarnation Eye. A yellow beam shot forth from it, extending rapidly into the distance.
Within the room, Orochimaru asked Kabuto, “How is the energy consumption?”
Kabuto, holding a square glass plate, tapped and swiped across it. On the plate, a bar graph fluctuated rapidly, representing the energy levels.
Pushing up his glasses, Kabuto reported, “The activation of the Reincarnation Eye is rapidly draining the natural energy available on Earth, exceeding initial estimates. It has already consumed 0.5%.”
Orochimaru nodded. “Keep recording. Report every time consumption exceeds another percent.”
Kabuto acknowledged.
Activating the Reincarnation Eye consumed natural energy directed outward into space, not within the planet, so no energy recycling occurred. The further the gaze reached, the greater the energy drain.
Given Earth’s current reserves of natural energy, it was insufficient to sustain the Reincarnation Eye for very long at great distances.
Hence, it was rarely used lightly.
...
Some time passed, feeling both brief and eternal. Kabuto and the others were under immense pressure.
Kabuto repeated like a broadcaster at intervals, “One percent... two percent... five percent...”
Earth’s natural energy was finite, and its conversion rate of cosmic particles into natural energy was low.
If consumption exceeded ten percent without replenishment, Earth itself would suffer consequences.
Fortunately, at seven percent consumption, the Reincarnation Eye spotted the “life-bearing planet” and transmitted its images back.
The Reincarnation Eye retracted, and the room’s lights flickered back on.
Orochimaru swiped the glass plate, revealing the image of the life-bearing planet.
Uchiha Madara leaned in and remarked, “So clear.”
Though the planet lay in a distant star system, the images returned by the Reincarnation Eye were remarkably vivid.
It was capable of revealing the entire planet’s outline and even the grains of sand on its surface.
This was the true power of the Reincarnation Eye.
“Hmm?”
As Orochimaru enlarged the image, Madara noticed a lush, verdant tree on the planet—that was the Ōtsutsuki clan’s divine tree.
Orochimaru zoomed in further, and Madara saw two Ōtsutsuki clan members seated beneath the divine tree. The two gazed toward the Reincarnation Eye’s direction, lips curled in cold smirks, as if they were staring right back.
Clearly, they sensed the Reincarnation Eye’s gaze and faced it deliberately.
Orochimaru swiped the glass plate again. “Accelerate at full speed. Head to this life-bearing planet.”
...
Three days passed in a flash.
Trailing behind the rumbling War Castle was an ape—disheveled, filthy, and utterly exhausted.
It was hard to imagine that anyone capable of keeping pace with the War Castle would fail to even wash their face—surely a simple chakra vibration would have sufficed.
Yet this showed how urgent matters were for the ape; otherwise, why neglect even basic cleanliness?
Kimimaro, patrolling the War Castle’s observation deck idly, noticed the ape chasing after them.
After confirming no threat, bone spikes erupted from his back as he flew out above the ape.
The Ape Demon King looked up, joy lighting his expression. “I must see Lord Orochimaru! I must tell him I have discovered a life-bearing planet!”
Kimimaro tilted his head in confusion. That had been three days ago. He’d already heard the news—it had been reported by the ape clan.
This matter was already known.
Kimimaro said, “Your people already relayed this message three days ago.”
Hope flickered in the Ape Demon King’s eyes. “Then how did Lord Orochimaru respond? Did he take it seriously?”
Kimimaro scrutinized the Ape Demon King warily but saw only hope and anxiety in his gaze. After a moment of silence, he answered, “Yes, he took it seriously. We’re currently making every effort to reach that planet.”
Suddenly, the Ape Demon King stumbled, falling hard to the ground. He had been running at full speed for so long that the fall sent him tumbling dozens of times before finally coming to a stop far away.
Even a body forged of iron could not withstand such relentless exertion.
“Hm?”
Kimimaro was taken aback. Why did he fall while speaking?
Flying down beside the Ape Demon King, he checked and found the ape unconscious from exhaustion.
“Ugh, the message was transmitted through the illusion network days ago. Why did he still have to physically chase the War Castle, pushing himself to this degree?”
Unable to comprehend, Kimimaro gave up pondering.
He lifted the unconscious Ape Demon King onto his back and flew back to the War Castle, delivering him to the medical and research staff.
