The eyes of the Transdimensional Beast spun wildly. Clearly, it had never expected Zeromaru to launch such a decisive attack against it.

The enormous fist struck the Transdimensional Beast squarely in the face almost at the exact same moment, sending layer after layer of ripples across its cheek.

Taichi did not let the opportunity pass, either. While the Transdimensional Beast was still stunned, he leaped into the air and followed up with a powerful kick.

The Transdimensional Beast was sent flying backward. The pathetic spectacle of it being knocked dozens of meters away gave no indication that it was an Ultimate-level Digimon standing more than ten meters tall.

“Yes! We hit it!” Daisuke shouted, his blood surging with excitement.

It was as though he had placed himself in the shoes of Zeromaru and Taichi, gleefully beating the Transdimensional Beast that had harmed Kari and the others.

Moreover, watching the two of them fight had opened the door to an entirely new world for him.

So the Digidestined were not merely people who provided their partner Digimon with the power to evolve. They could also fight shoulder to shoulder with their partners in the truest sense of the word!

Daisuke exchanged a glance with Raidramon. The other immediately understood what was on his mind and knowingly came to his side.

Daisuke turned over and climbed onto Raidramon’s back. Once again, Raidramon unleashed his lightning-fast speed and charged after the Transdimensional Beast, which had been sent hurtling into the distance.

Raidramon raced forward at full speed, moving so quickly that it seemed as though he were tearing the air apart. Daisuke was forced backward by the wind and nearly slipped off his back.

“Are you all right, Daisuke?”

Raidramon hurriedly asked when he sensed something unusual about him.

“I’m fine!” Daisuke replied with difficulty. “This speed is still nothing compared to Senior Taichi’s.”

Daisuke moved his right hand, which had been bracing him from behind, up to the goggles on his forehead.

“Don’t underestimate me... I’m the man who inherited these goggles!”

After putting them on, Daisuke suddenly felt that the speed which had been so difficult to control moments ago was no longer a problem at all.

“What is this?” Raidramon felt a newborn power surge through his body. “Daisuke!”

Daisuke felt the same thing and immediately understood.

“Raidramon, we’re accelerating!”

“Yeah!”

Raidramon’s speed soared once more. Like a streak of golden lightning, he reached the Transdimensional Beast’s side in an instant.

As Daisuke looked into the Transdimensional Beast’s eyes, he seemed able to see Kari and the others who had been absorbed within them.

At that moment, Daisuke felt as though history were repeating itself.

The first time Veemon evolved into Raidramon had been to rescue Senior Taichi’s partner, Agumon, who had been controlled by the Digimon Emperor’s Dark Ring and forced to evolve into the Ultimate-level MetalGreymon.

This time, they were fighting to rescue his own companions from inside an Ultimate-level Transdimensional Beast.

To say that Daisuke was not afraid at all would have been a lie.

But compared with his fear of fighting, Daisuke was even more afraid of becoming a coward who abandoned his companions because he was frightened.

“Hang on a little longer, everyone! Senior Taichi and I are coming to save you!”

The blade-like horn on Raidramon’s head, swift as lightning, released a cutting bolt of electricity.

“Lightning Slash!”

Released at point-blank range, the finishing move struck the Transdimensional Beast almost the instant it was unleashed.

In a heartbeat, lightning comparable to that of a natural thunderstorm spread across the Transdimensional Beast’s entire body.

The Transdimensional Beast’s head was still reeling from the blows delivered by Taichi and Zeromaru. Though the electric attack was effective, it also brought the creature back to its senses.

At that same moment, inside the Transdimensional Beast:

The Tamers, bound within bubble after bubble, heard Daisuke’s voice.

They had come from different parallel worlds, each having been defeated and absorbed by the Transdimensional Beast. Among them were also the second-generation Digidestined who had been chosen alongside Daisuke.

Now, some of them seemed to hear a voice coming from outside.

Takeru: “It sounds like someone is fighting out there.”

Kari Yagami raised her head, her face shining with incomparable radiance.

“It’s Daisuke! That’s Daisuke’s voice! He said his big brother is coming to save us!”

Miyako Inoue: “Daisuke...”

Iori Hida: “Daisuke and Senior Taichi are fighting for our sake!”

Kari raised her D-3 Digivice.

“Everyone! Let’s send our power to them!”

“I understand!”

“Then I will, too!”

Hundreds of Tamers took out their own Digivices. Under the influence of the holy power within them—

Light transcended time and space and reached the world outside.

Daisuke felt a violent trembling and a faint current of heat coming from the D-3 Digivice in his pocket. When he pulled it out, the device seemed to flash with a golden radiance, though he could not tell whether it was merely his imagination.

The Transdimensional Beast lifted its head slightly. Seeing Daisuke and Raidramon standing upon its body, it swung a massive hand at them, attempting to knock them away.

Daisuke, who had been prepared for this from the start, had Raidramon leap into the air and evade the blow.

Although the attack missed, the Transdimensional Beast still sent dust billowing into the sky.

When the dust cleared, the Transdimensional Beast had vanished once again.

“That thing has jumped to another world again! Be careful, Senior Taichi!” Daisuke shouted immediately.

Taichi merely folded his arms and replied with great confidence, “Don’t worry. Let it jump.”

“Daisuke, I’m going to teach you a second way to counter its instantaneous movement.”

The moment Taichi finished speaking, he suddenly twisted around and drove a powerful punch toward a point behind him and to the side.

At that exact moment, the Transdimensional Beast appeared where his fist landed.

Accompanied by a look of astonishment, the Transdimensional Beast was sent flying backward once more.

“You actually hit it!” Daisuke shouted in disbelief.

“But how did you do that?”

The timing and angle of the punch had been perfect—so perfect that it seemed Taichi had known in advance that the Transdimensional Beast would appear there.

“It’s simple. When the Transdimensional Beast returns to this world, the air around it is displaced by its enormous body suddenly appearing.”

“So if you observe the changes in the air, you can predict where it will materialize!”

Daisuke’s pupils trembled wildly.

“Can something like that really be done?”

Of course it could. It absolutely could!

When Taichi once again ordered Zeromaru to fire a V-arrow Breath at the position he had predicted, and the attack struck once more, it proved that his method was indeed viable.

Having suffered severe injuries, the Transdimensional Beast began to consider retreating.

It had been born as a spontaneous mutation caused by the extreme distortion of the Digital World. From the moment it gained consciousness, it had already stood at the very summit of the evolutionary chain as an Ultimate-level Digimon. It also possessed the power to travel between parallel worlds and different timelines. Since its emergence, it had never suffered such a humiliating defeat.

A lifetime of smooth sailing had left it with extremely poor resilience under pressure. Even now, despite having been repeatedly grievously wounded by Taichi and Zeromaru, it was not entirely without hope of victory. If it fought with everything it had, it might yet create a miracle of its own.

But the momentary desire to retreat caused the seed of that miracle to wither.

From that instant onward, the tide of victory began to turn toward Taichi.

Crack—

The Transdimensional Beast’s body suddenly split with countless fissures, and golden holy light burst forth from within.

“What is this...?” Daisuke stared at his D-3 Digivice as it turned golden beneath the radiance. He could feel the strength of countless people within it.

The strength of his companions!

“This is the power of miracles! A miracle has happened!”

Daisuke held the D-3 Digivice in both hands. The message that his companions were still safe brought tears of joy to his eyes.

At that moment, the golden radiance began to gather, taking the form of a spherical golden DigiMental.

The Destiny DigiMental.

As though it possessed a will of its own, it came before Taichi. Before he could scan it with his Digivice, it impatiently shot into the device.

In an instant, Taichi felt an entirely new power surge through his body. He exchanged a glance with Daisuke, and the two immediately understood one another. Together, they raised their Digivices and D-3 Digivice.

“Armor Evolution!”
