19. The underdeveloped Gabumon, Digivice!
The Centaur Digimon said, “This ruin has always safeguarded the secret of the Sacred Plan, and I have stayed here precisely to protect this place.”
Taiichi gazed at the mural, “So this is the Sacred Plan.” A wave of emotion stirred within him. The Sacred Plan, once mentioned by the Lion Digimon, was finally before his eyes.
“In theory, every chosen child receives the Sacred Plan before entering the Digital World. It grants their partner Digimon the divine power to defeat evil.”
“In other words, the Sacred Plan serves as the identification for the chosen children.”
The Centaur Digimon looked at Taiichi with a complicated expression. “Of course, sometimes, ordinary children are drawn into the Digital World simply because the human world is too close.”
Taiichi understood what he meant: he was just an ordinary person who had fallen into misfortune and ended up here.
Honestly, Taiichi didn’t feel particularly disheartened. Rather, a sense of relief washed over him.
Perhaps it was a subtle dissonance that had prevented him from accepting the identity of a chosen child deep down. He had always seen himself merely as Zeromaru’s tamer.
However, the second piece of news made even Taiichi sigh softly.
The Centaur Digimon said, “The Sacred Angel City you mentioned... sorry, I’ve never heard of such a place.”
“So it seems you must go to the mainland to find it. Heaven only knows when that will be.”
“It doesn’t matter. No matter how long it takes, I’ll be with you,” Zeromaru reassured him.
Taiichi shrugged and said to the Centaur Digimon, “Thanks for the information.” Then he turned and left.
Watching Taiichi stride decisively toward the exit, the Centaur Digimon asked, “Where are you going?”
Without turning back, Taiichi waved his hand, “To fulfill my promise to the Lion Digimon—to defeat the Demon Digimon.”
The Centaur Digimon frowned in confusion. “Why? I’ve already told you, you’re not a chosen child. You have no responsibility or obligation to fight against the forces of darkness.”
Taiichi suddenly stopped, turned to the Centaur Digimon with a smile, and said, “But such a creature is very dangerous to the Digital World, isn’t it?”
“That... of course.”
“So if I defeat the Demon Digimon and the other dark forces, wouldn’t I become the savior?”
“A person not chosen by the world, yet becoming its savior—doesn’t that sound pretty cool?”
“Cool... Just because of that, do you realize how powerful the enemies you’ll face are?!”
“Don’t worry,” Taiichi said confidently, patting Zeromaru. “With Zeromaru and me together, we’re a 100% winning combination.”
At that moment, outside the ruins, the voice of Unicorn Digimon echoed, “Holy Light Sphere!”
Could it be the Demon Digimon? Taiichi thought, no longer hesitating, and hurried outside with Zeromaru.
Soon, they arrived outside to see Unicorn Digimon confronting a Rookie-level Digimon.
“That was just a warning. If you come any closer, the next shot won’t miss!” Unicorn Digimon said coldly.
The Digimon being pushed back was a Gabumon smaller than average.
Gazing at the huge crater before it, Gabumon swallowed nervously, tears threatening to fall.
“I’ve told you, I’m not an evil Digimon! I’m just following Lord Holy Angel Digimon’s orders to deliver a message…”
Holy Angel Digimon?!
The name, differing by just one word from Sacred Angel City, immediately caught Taiichi’s attention.
“Unicorn Digimon, don’t attack him!” Taiichi shouted.
Seeing Taiichi rush out, Unicorn Digimon quickly approached and nuzzled his head against Taiichi’s, then gradually relaxed.
Earlier, countless black gears had emerged from beneath Falui Island, gathering rapidly atop Infinite Mountain.
From there came a chilling dark power, which continued to grow stronger.
As a Holy Digimon, Unicorn Digimon felt this dark force intensely, heightening his nerves and prompting his confrontation with Gabumon.
Taiichi stepped before Gabumon. “You said Holy Angel Digimon? Does he live in Sacred Angel City?”
Gabumon sized Taiichi up before saying, “You must be the tamer Lord mentioned, Taiichi Yagami, right?”
Tamer!
Those words struck Taiichi like lightning to his heart.
“So it was you! The Holy Angel Digimon who brought me to this world, right?” Taiichi couldn’t hide his excitement. Just moments ago, he thought it would take a long time to find Sacred Angel City, but now the clue had appeared before him unexpectedly.
“Tell me quickly—where exactly is Sacred Angel City?”
“Calm down, calm down!” Gabumon’s eyes spun wildly as Taiichi shook him vigorously.
Only when a mechanical device resembling a wrist guard fell from Gabumon’s pouch did Taiichi stop.
Seeing the device’s shape, Taiichi’s body trembled slightly—it resembled the Sacred Plan depicted on the mural.
Gabumon plopped onto the ground, dizzy, and explained, “This is a Digivice, a tool that scans and transmits data. Lord Holy Angel Digimon specially sent it to you.”
“He asked me to apologize on his behalf for the operational mistake that brought you to this parallel Digital World.”
“Parallel... Digital World?”
“You’ll understand the details once you wear the Digivice. Anyway, my task here is done.” Gabumon lay back, golden light shimmering around him.
Unicorn Digimon’s eyes widened. From this light, he sensed an extraordinarily powerful divine energy, a radiant force rivaling the dark one emanating from the mountaintop.
As the light dimmed, Gabumon’s figure vanished.
The pouch spilled open on the ground, and Taiichi picked it up, discovering it was a cloak.
Assessing the size, he realized it only fit him and draped it over his shoulders.
Everyone’s attention turned to the Digivice lying on the ground.
“Since that underdeveloped Gabumon said it’s yours, you should wear it first,” the Centaur Digimon suggested.
Taiichi fastened it to his wrist, and a flood of information suddenly surged into his mind—
The Digivice’s user manual.
By scanning thoughts and converting them into data transmitted directly to Digimon, the transmission speed far surpassed verbal commands.
It could also scan objects in the Digital World—such as herbs—convert them into data stored within the Digivice, and transmit them directly to a Digimon, bypassing the need to administer medicine manually, achieving instant healing.
Moreover, it could scan a Digimon’s profile, revealing their stats directly.
“This really embodies the concept of the ‘Digital World’ to the fullest,” Taiichi marveled.
These instructions were not pre-installed but appeared gradually as Taiichi learned to use the Digivice. Then more information emerged—
Precisely, a video.
“Hello, Taiichi Yagami,” a Digimon clad in priestly robes with wings behind him spoke in a golden-lit space.
“I am the Lord of Sacred Angel City, Holy Angel Digimon (Cleric Form).”
Facing this sanctimonious-looking Digimon, Taiichi said, “So it’s you—the one who brought me to this Digital World.”
“My sincerest apologies, but please listen carefully: you are currently in a parallel world.”
