The sudden incident caused Moyona’s brain to crash instantly. What was this? What was he doing? Who am I? Where am I? What should I have for dinner? Thoughts like these swirled around her mind like stars.

She did not even know how she had walked home, nor how she had fallen asleep once she was in bed. By all logic, shouldn't she have been tossing and turning all night? Yet, she had slept exceptionally soundly, which made her feel that her intelligence was approaching that of Aqua’s. In any case, when she finally came to her senses, it was already the next day.

Moyona still could not fathom why Rubi had kissed her. Was it a sudden impulse triggered by the moment? Or was it merely a simple gesture of etiquette? She had heard Rubi mention that in some open-minded countries on Earth, men and women kissed when they met... but Rubi did not seem like the type to favor such etiquette. Thinking it over and over, the Magic Goddess’s hair was practically splitting at the ends, yet she still could not make any sense of it.

She snuck to the door and opened it a crack to observe. Rubi was not hiding anything; he was simply in the living room, wrestling with a staff.

"You beast, you beast!"

Alicia was truly furious. She kept hurling her body at Rubi, trying to strike him down in one go, but the reality was cruel. Like her master, she lacked physical strength, and Rubi could easily neutralize her charges with a gentle push of his hand.

"You really have a thick skull, don't you?"

Rubi blocked Alicia’s attack once again and said helplessly. He had only kissed Moyona, yet she reacted as if he were a feudal-era parent, hounding him with insults all night long.

"Alicia, stop making a scene."

Dragon could no longer stand it. He transformed into a rope and bound Alicia tightly, rendering her unable to move.

"Making a scene? Where am I making a scene! That beast actually did such a thing to Moyona right in front of me. He must have prepared himself to die!"

Alicia did not feel she was being unreasonable at all. She considered herself quite magnanimous; she hadn't been this angry even when Moyona was severely injured for Rubi’s sake. But now, seeing her forcibly kissed—clearly, nothing good ever came from following this man.

"Enough, behave yourself. Are you saying you want that white-haired girl to remain alone for the rest of her life, dying without even having children of her own?"

Having spent so long with Rubi, Dragon had picked up his talent for verbal sparring. He could understand Alicia’s feelings—it was the classic "my daughter I raised with such hardship is running off with a man." He felt the same way; he had watched Rubi grow up, and seeing him finally ready to find a partner gave him a sense of relief.

"I—I didn't mean that."

"Well, she’s going to be 'pierced' by a man eventually anyway, might as well be my partner."

"You—you vulgar creature!"

"It’s not like you’ve only known me for a day. Let me tell you, you’d better start getting used to it now. As the heat of human romance rises, even more 'excessive' things will happen."

"Even more... excessive things?"

Alicia stopped struggling. It was obvious she had conjured up some adult imagery, and she began to struggle even more violently. Dragon was forced to turn into a safe and lock her inside.

"Absolutely not! I can create life using Moyona’s mana!"

Alicia’s shouting could still be heard from inside the safe. It seemed the staff had reached a state of hysteria.

"You think you’re me? Can you actually pull that off?"

Dragon said with disdain. If anything, he could only create life forms using his own mana; he didn't believe for a second that Alicia had that capability.

"I probably can't do it alone, but the seven of us can. For Moyona’s sake, I can go find the rest of my companions."

"You really are incredibly stubborn!"

Dragon was truly speechless now. Alicia had clearly lost her mind; she was actually willing to go to such lengths. Heaven only knew where the other five manifestations of desire had run off to.

With Alicia’s interference gone, Rubi finally found some peace. He looked toward Moyona’s bedroom door and caught a glimpse of those red eyes secretly watching him. The moment their gazes met, Moyona’s heart rate accelerated significantly.

"Yo... yo."

Seeing she had been exposed, the Magic Goddess had no choice but to bite the bullet, step out, and offer a stiff greeting.

"About yesterday..."

Rubi could sense from Moyona’s attitude that he might have gone too far. Kissing was usually something done after becoming a couple; it was natural for her to be unable to accept it so suddenly.

"Wait, don't say it. I’ve thought about it for a long time. What kind of relationship do we have right now?" Moyona raised a hand to interrupt Rubi.

"Creditor and debtor?"

"No, that kind of thing doesn't matter. In short, we’ve never had a clear relationship, right? From now on, just be my teacher. You always manage to teach me strange knowledge anyway, so you’re qualified."

"???"

Rubi was truly covered in question marks. Moyona didn't seem like the type to enjoy a teacher-student roleplay.

"Although we haven't known each other long, I have an indescribable feeling toward you. When you’re unhappy, I’m unhappy. When you’re happy, I’m happy. When you’re bullied, I want to take revenge for you. When you’re in danger, I’ll protect you with my life. These are feelings I’ve only ever had for my teacher, so..."

Moyona spoke with conviction. Poor Magic Goddess; her parents died when she was young, and her teacher was an irresponsible thief who spent more time stealing than teaching her. These matters of the heart should have been guided by her mentor, but Yula was already gone long before Moyona could blushingly ask, "I’ve started to care about someone recently."

The Magic Goddess, with her difficult personality, had no close friends to discuss this with. Without anyone to guide her, she had inexplicably cornered herself. From childhood, her mind had only known the feelings of a student toward a teacher, so naturally, she could not understand what her emotions toward Rubi truly meant.

"Then, the kiss yesterday?"

Rubi was sharp-minded. He quickly understood why Moyona had come to that conclusion, but because she had misunderstood her own feelings, his own feelings in her eyes had effectively become a waste.

"That? My teacher used to kiss my cheek when I was little too. It’s perfectly normal. If you have other ideas, you can tell me, or we can talk about it later."

"...I understand."

What could Rubi say when faced with a Magic Goddess whose intelligence and emotional quotient had completely gone offline? He could only accept it with a sense of disappointment. Forcible kissing hadn't worked, and he couldn't just have his way with her right there—that was something only an idiot would do.

"I say, was that a heartbreak?"

After Moyona went into the bathroom, Dragon, still in the form of a safe, said with surprise. He had seen stupid people, but never anyone that stupid. Alicia, inside the safe, was quite happy; as expected, her Moyona wasn't so easily swindled by a man.

"Moyona hasn't realized her own feelings yet. I was too impatient. Perhaps the time isn't right yet. But as time goes on, she’ll eventually understand what these things mean."

Rubi was carefree. It was just one failed confession; he would just try again next time. Regardless, even if he and Moyona did become a couple, their current life wouldn't change at all—they would still eat and drink as usual.

"Is this what you call raising her?"

"Who would raise a girlfriend that big?"
