Chapter 12: Changing the Sheets on the Wedding Night
Sang Yu returned to her room and placed the passbook along with her own thousand yuan into a box. She locked it carefully with the key.
“I didn’t expect him to voluntarily hand over the family passbook—quite commend. He also takes the initiative to wash the dishes, which is another plus. So far, I haven’t noticed anything amiss; I’ll continue observing.”
However, in the original story, this man was said to perish during a mission. Since he seemed decent, Sang Yu decided to keep a closer watch—after all, someone this good surviving could still serve the people well.
Feeling that her meal had mostly digested, she prepared to take a shower, but suddenly realized she had no clothes to change into. She hadn’t brought any of the old clothes from home—a grave oversight. She planned to borrow something from Jiang Jingming.
To her surprise, Jiang Jingming wasn’t in his room. She searched around and, upon reaching the backyard, saw him showering. At that moment, he was tilting his head back, water cascading over his body—flowing down his well-defined chest muscles, abs, and continuing down…
This man was just so… well-endowed everywhere.
Sang Yu’s face flushed crimson; she quickly turned and ran away.
Jiang Jingming, noticing the commotion, only caught a glimpse of the corner of her clothes. Looking down at his own naked body, he too blushed. He was so used to showering here that he had forgotten there was a woman in the house.
Sitting in the living room, Sang Yu kept patting her own face, her mind replaying the scene she had just witnessed. It was far too stimulating—simply overwhelming.
When Jiang Jingming dressed and returned, he saw Sang Yu patting her face and muttering to herself. Upon spotting him, she immediately pretended nothing had happened, though her face, red as an apple, betrayed her.
Jiang Jingming, initially feeling a bit awkward, couldn’t help but smile at her flushed expression.
“Well, uh, I wanted to borrow a piece of clothing from you,” Sang Yu said, eyes darting.
She had no choice but to avoid his gaze; otherwise, she’d become like an eager little cat, much like men glued to a football game.
“No need. I bought some for you,” he replied.
When he heard she was wearing old clothes at home, he had already planned to buy her some. After seeing off his aunt and the others that afternoon, he went to the market and bought several sets.
“Hm?” Sang Yu looked up sharply.
Jiang Jingming then took a few bags from the living room cabinet.
“I wasn’t sure what style you like, so I just grabbed a few. You can go shopping when you have time.”
Sang Yu accepted the bags and added a point to her evaluation. He was surprisingly thoughtful.
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
Carrying the clothes upstairs, Sang Yu examined the outfits Jiang Jingming had chosen. They seemed to be the latest fashion, stylish and fresh—surely quite expensive. It appeared he was generous with his money, which was another positive trait.
There was also a set of pajamas that felt very comfortable to the touch.
Sang Yu took the pajamas and went to the second-floor bathroom to shower.
Jiang Jingming stayed in the living room. Hearing the water from the upstairs bathroom, he suddenly felt parched and drank several mouthfuls of water.
…
“Brother Jiang, let’s have a baby together?”
A young girl, dressed scantily, lay against his chest. Her doe-like eyes looked at him with innocence and beauty, stirring an irresistible urge to spoil her.
Her smooth, delicate skin, pale and soft, contrasted starkly with his tanned arms.
The overwhelming sensation caused Jiang Jingming’s years of self-control to crumble.
With a swift movement, he pinned the girl beneath him, indulging recklessly.
Suddenly, he opened his eyes, feeling a shift beneath him. Disgust flickered across his gaze.
He rose from the bed and took the sheets and blankets to wash downstairs.
At that moment, Sang Yu was still awake—perhaps having napped too much that afternoon, she found it hard to sleep at night. She was busy painting when she heard noise downstairs and grew curious.
Opening the window, she saw Jiang Jingming washing something in the backyard.
This man was so diligent? Washing things in the middle of the night?
…
Song Jiajia crawled out from under the covers, while Lu Hao lay beside her, sighing contentedly.
She glanced at Lu Hao. In her previous life, after marrying Jiang Jingming, she never experienced such things. But she had heard from neighbors in the old apartment building that their men were quite formidable.
Curiosity got the better of her. So from beginning to end, it lasted less than ten minutes—was that normal? Could it be because they were newlyweds?
Song Jiajia nudged Lu Hao, “Brother Lu, let’s go again.”
Though brief, little by little might build up to pleasure.
Lu Hao waved her off, “No more. Go to sleep; I have work tomorrow.”
He turned over and fell asleep.
Song Jiajia glared at his back, frustrated. What was going on? Aren’t men usually more enthusiastic about this?
That lousy temp worker—what was so great about him?
But thinking that Lu Hao would become a wealthy man, she decided to endure.
Imagining a future with endless money, she drifted off contentedly.
…
“Too noisy!”
Song Jiajia was woken early by sounds from the yard.
Lu Hao impatiently pushed her, “Get up quickly.”
Song Jiajia groaned, “Why so early?”
She was used to sleeping until nearly noon at home.
“What else but to make breakfast?” Lu Hao frowned, suddenly regretting marrying Song Jiajia.
Though she was wealthy, she clearly acted like a spoiled lady. He’d rather have someone like Sang Yu, who seemed more obedient.
“What breakfast?” Song Jiajia stared at him.
Taking a deep breath, Lu Hao tried to sound calm. “You’re the new bride; since you married me, you should take care of the elders. My grandmother and grandfather are old. You need to get up early to cook for them.”
Song Jiajia stared in shock. “What?”
“What? You don’t want to? Didn’t you say you’d take good care of my family when you married me? Were you lying?” Lu Hao narrowed his eyes.
Though he didn’t know why Song Jiajia agreed to marry him, once married, she had to obey him.
Song Jiajia was a hundred times unwilling. She had never cooked at home and now had to serve those two old folks.
But seeing Lu Hao’s suspicious expression, she had no choice but to say, “Sorry, Brother Lu. I just wasn’t ready at the moment. I’ll get up now.”
If not for the thought of his future wealth, she would have scolded him by now.
Seeing Song Jiajia’s compliance, Lu Hao found it somewhat acceptable.
