Chapter 20: Detoxification

A shadow silently appeared behind Liu Lang, slowly raising a slender blade.
Xiao Rong’s mouth gushed blood uncontrollably, unable to utter a sound, only blinking furiously.
Meanwhile, Liu Lang’s pants seemed to be tied in an unbreakable knot—no matter how hard he struggled, he couldn’t undo it!
“Knife, come!”
Desperate to save Xiao Rong, he could no longer hold back. The dagger stabbed into the ground suddenly flew up, and he slashed through the waistband of his pants.
The figure behind mistook Liu Lang’s move as discovery and swung a blade to strike the dagger away. Stepping back, she vanished into a puddle on the ground.
Liu Lang was startled—he finally realized there was an enemy!
But only a faint trace of a woman’s fragrance lingered; no figure was visible.
His gaze swept inch by inch, missing no detail—ninjas were masters of disguise.
“Whoosh!”
A long needle shot toward him from behind, gleaming with a cold light.
Liu Lang turned and swung his blade, deflecting the flying needle. The polished blade didn’t reflect his own image, but a white mask!
White emerged from the blade’s surface, two long needles in hand, poised to pierce Liu Lang’s head.
At the critical moment, Xiao Rong controlled the flying sword to block White!
The cost was total loss of her mobility.
White missed her strike and immediately retreated.
Liu Lang was still in shock. “How did she get inside my blade’s reflection?!”
“I’m White. My mission is to kill you all.” White retracted her needles, formed a hand seal, and condensed mirror-like surfaces from the mist, surrounding Liu Lang and Xiao Rong.
Like a paper-thin figure, she floated into one mirror, and dozens of her images appeared simultaneously within the mirrors.
This was cheating—how could they fight this!
Liu Lang’s scalp tingled.
He thrust a dagger toward one mirror, but it was as hard as iron and bounced the dagger away.
The mirror images, each holding needles, raised their arms simultaneously. Liu Lang’s expression grew grave—this full-angle barrage seemed impossible to block, so he protected only his vital areas...
The needles shot out in unison, but each flew past Liu Lang...
“Xiao Rong!”
Liu Lang exploded into his fastest speed, shielding Xiao Rong.
Xiao Rong watched helplessly as Liu Lang was pierced all over like a porcupine. “Liu Lang, so you really care about me…”

It seemed a burden in her heart had been lifted.
She struggled to her feet, embraced him, no longer fearing that his breath would worsen the Hehuan poison. Instead, she opened her heart, allowing the poison to rage unchecked.
The spiritual energy swirling violently inside her was dispersed by the even more ferocious Hehuan poison!
Holding Liu Lang, she kissed him.
White was at a loss. Before her stood cultivators whom ninjas called demons, yet at the brink of death, they were performing a yin-yang balancing act.
What was this? A pleasure before death?
Hidden in the shadows, Zan Yidao’s suspicion grew. He dared not act rashly—this was an A-rank cultivator!
Once, Xiao Rong regained some strength and pulled out the needles piercing Liu Lang.
Twice, the Hehuan poison had already merged into the blood and spiritual energy, restoring all her strength.
Thrice, they were truly indulging!
“Bad news, White! Retreat quickly!” Zan Yidao’s life instincts screamed danger.
The surging, violent spiritual energy crashed like a raging sea, dispersing all the fog in the forest. White’s mirror technique was shattered by the overwhelming force.
Zan Yidao, clutching a bloodied White, crouched low in the bushes, eyes fixed on the cultivator, assessing whether he had a chance to strike.
“Master Zan… I’m sorry…” White forced the words out.
Zan Yidao looked at her with tenderness, brushing her hair from her forehead. “You’re only a mere C-rank. To push a cultivator to this extent with just your bloodline limit is impressive.”
“Come out.” Xiao Rong remained astride, rhythmically moving.
Zan Yidao sighed, “You really can’t hide from His Excellency’s eyes. But it seems you’re injured. I wonder if I’ll have a chance to take your head?”
“You have no chance—you’re only B-rank. The gulf between ranks isn’t so easily crossed.”
“Unless you have that young lady’s special ability, you might be able to fight beyond your level.” Xiao Rong flicked her hair and continued riding.
Without warning, Zan Yidao appeared beside her, his decapitating blade swinging down!
The flying sword deftly blocked.
The decapitating blade moved like lightning, striking hundreds of blows from all angles in the blink of an eye.
Xiao Rong sensed something was wrong—each strike grew stronger, and after hundreds of hits, its power nearly reached A-rank.
She flipped her wrist; the long sword parried the decapitating blade and aimed straight at Zan Yidao’s center.
Zan Yidao countered, but was knocked back several meters.
“There’s no mistake—his power just reached A-rank in that instant! This is troublesome.”
Liu Lang was at a loss. Without his support, the Hehuan poison would surge again!

“I’ve seen a few cultivators, but this is the first time I’ve seen one do such things in battle,” Zan Yidao joked, but remained on high alert.
“Water Dragon Technique!”
Two massive water dragons roared as they charged at Xiao Rong.
She clamped her legs tight, thrusting her waist, flipping through the air with Liu Lang to dodge the water dragons’ assault.
They landed on a tree, still in motion...
“Intel says she claims to be the Sacred Maiden of the Hehuan Sect. Intelligence officers speculate that desire might be her power source...” Zan Yidao pondered countermeasures.
“Great Waterfall Technique!”
A towering wave, tens of meters high, appeared out of nowhere, dark and overwhelming!
The flying sword pierced the giant wave. Xiao Rong, holding Liu Lang, slipped through it. “Now’s our chance!” Zan Yidao, hidden within the wave, decisively slashed toward Xiao Rong’s head.
The flying sword curved at a strange angle to intercept Zan Yidao.
His body dissolved into water and scattered.
“Water Clone!”
“I’m here!” Zan Yidao appeared beneath them, grabbing Liu Lang.
Xiao Rong and Liu Lang were forced apart.
“Water Prison Technique!” Zan Yidao stood on the water’s surface, controlling Liu Lang with the Water Prison technique.
Inside Xiao Rong, the Hehuan poison surged back. Her chaotic spiritual energy swirled wildly once more, and she spat a mouthful of blood.
She fell into the water.
“Looks like she’s really injured. But desire isn’t the source of her power—it’s the source of her healing. My record just got another notch.”
—
Countless ages ago, inside a secret chamber of the Hehuan Sect, a tender old lady sensed something and furrowed her brows. “Foolish child, you could have postponed the Hehuan poison. If only you had found the cultivation method I left you, you could have survived this ordeal. Why must you do this?”
“Using male and female to dispel the Hehuan poison is just drinking poison to quench thirst—it’s a low-grade method. Sigh... You’re truly an unguided child. Let the ancestor use her last strength to give you some guidance.”
The sect’s bell tolled, disciples all paused their tasks, looking in surprise toward the highest peak.
Five palace-clad women knelt outside the secret chamber, hearts frantic and helpless.
The chamber door opened, and the senior sister emerged, calmly saying, “Master has ascended.”
