Jiang Shuwei hadn’t expected to stumble upon such an opportunity. She quickly expressed her thanks and followed the man into his private elevator. Nearby, the several receptionists were stunned into silence.

Inside the cramped elevator, there were only two people. The others following Qin Weizhou waited for a different elevator.

Jiang Shuwei nervously clutched the rolled-up scroll in her arms, feeling somewhat rebellious for intruding into his private domain.

Fortunately, within seconds, the elevator ascended to the thirty-ninth floor—the entire floor was Qin Weizhou’s office.

“I have a meeting at 10:30. You wait in the lounge next door for half an hour,” Qin Weizhou said as he stepped out. His assistant was already there, briefing him on the next agenda.

“Understood, President Qin.” Jiang Shuwei nodded respectfully and followed another assistant to the lounge.

Thinking of Su Mian’s arrogant expression from earlier made Jiang Shuwei even more anxious.

She wondered whether Qin Weizhou’s collaboration with the Su family was crucial. If it was, and Su Mian had made extra demands, would Qin consider them? After all, Jiang Shuwei’s cooperation was only worth ten million—a small deal by comparison.

“Sigh, I should have checked the almanac before leaving today. Nothing seems to be going right,” Jiang Shuwei muttered, beginning to feel superstitious.

In conference room eight, everyone was ready, just waiting for the decision-maker.

Qin Weizhou pushed open the door, and Su Mian’s eyes lit up.

Both Qin Weizhou and He Jingcheng were top-tier men in the capital—remarkably handsome, yet their auras differed.

He Jingcheng exuded the grace and nobility of a refined gentleman, while Qin Weizhou resembled a moving iceberg.

He Jingcheng occasionally displayed warmth and politeness, but Qin Weizhou was cold, like the millennia-frozen tundra atop the Siberian mountains.

“President Qin, hello, I’m from Su Corporation...” Su Mian began.

“Let’s start.” Qin Weizhou sat in the main seat, cutting off Su Mian’s redundant introduction with a cold tone.

Su Mian’s elegantly extended hand froze midair; she smiled awkwardly, pursing her lips but maintaining a gracious expression.

The meeting concluded, and it was time to sign the contract.

The two sides had been negotiating for over half a month; all cooperation details had been settled, leaving only the overall report and the decision-maker’s signature.

Therefore, Su Mian believed this collaboration was practically assured.

Smiling, she said, “President Qin, I heard from Jingcheng that you’re also going to cooperate with Miss Jiang Shuwei. Is that true?”

Qin Weizhou was still reading the contract. Seeing Su Mian speak, he replied coldly, “Miss Su, do you enjoy meddling in others’ affairs?”

Su Mian was speechless.

Qin Weizhou truly was as cold as ice—even toward a stunning beauty like her, he showed no chivalrous tenderness. Su Mian’s fingers curled tightly under the table.

Yet she had bragged earlier that she would sabotage Jiang Shuwei’s collaboration with Qin Corporation. If she failed, Jiang Shuwei would surely mock her.

“President Qin, do you know much about Jiang Shuwei? I heard she’s so desperate to marry into the He family that she resorts to all means, even coercion. Someone capable of such actions must have questionable character,” Su Mian smiled, speaking as if merely stating facts without malice.

Qin Weizhou remained indifferent: “I’m not interested in others’ family matters. Miss Su, if you like involving yourself in other people’s marriages, that’s your business.”

Su Mian had intended to embarrass Jiang Shuwei but found herself blushing instead.

Though surrounded by her loyal subordinates and several core members of Qin Corporation, she felt her face burning. Was Qin Weizhou implying she was a homewrecker?

“President Qin, you’ve misunderstood. I’ve known Jingcheng since childhood; we’ve always been close,” Su Mian quickly explained, smiling.

“So close you can casually interfere in others’ marriages?” Qin Weizhou retorted sharply.

The smile on Su Mian’s face froze completely, but she forced a grin, cheeks flushed, unwilling to make a further fool of herself.

Qin Weizhou took out a pen, signed the contract, stood up, and opened the door to leave.

Su Mian took a deep breath, her lovely face alternating between red and pale from embarrassment.

She had lacked the chance to sabotage Jiang Shuwei’s cooperation and had made a complete fool of herself.

Qin Weizhou was indeed as ruthless and sharp-tongued as the rumors said.

But since she had gained nothing, Jiang Shuwei would likely be ridiculed mercilessly in front of Qin Weizhou.

Thinking of this made Su Mian feel better as she left Qin Corporation with her people.

Jiang Shuwei sat in the lounge, watching through the glass window as Su Mian and her group departed down the corridor. She clenched her fists, feeling helpless.

This was bad—had Qin Weizhou already been swayed by Su Mian? Would he now come to cancel their cooperation?

The thought filled Jiang Shuwei with despair, her future seeming bleak.

An assistant entered, bringing some fruit. “Miss Jiang, you might have to wait a little longer. President Qin has an important meeting.”

Jiang Shuwei’s heart sank, but she forced a smile. “Alright, thank you.”

Time passed, and it was now lunch. Watching the staff start leaving for the cafeteria, Jiang Shuwei grew increasingly anxious.

If she waited any longer without meeting Qin Weizhou, it would mean the collaboration might fail.

A young man in a suit entered, smiling warmly. “Miss Jiang, sorry to keep you waiting.”

Jiang Shuwei recognized him as the man who had followed Qin Weizhou earlier—likely his trusted assistant.

“My name is Sun Xuan, President Qin’s assistant,” he introduced himself.

Jiang Shuwei’s heart skipped a beat. This assistant was probably here to ask her to leave.

“Hello,” Jiang Shuwei stood up.

“Here’s the situation,” Sun Xuan adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses. “President Qin was busy with meetings earlier. Now, he can only meet you during lunch. Please follow me downstairs.”

Relieved, Jiang Shuwei suppressed her excitement. “Thank you, I appreciate it.”

She followed Sun Xuan, took an elevator down, walked down a corridor, and arrived at a bright dining room.

At this moment, Qin Weizhou was already seated at the dining table, reading a newspaper.

“President Qin, Miss Jiang has arrived.”

Qin Weizhou glanced up and said, “Sit down.”

Jiang Shuwei was momentarily stunned. Looking at the table, she saw a waiter pushing a cart, placing dish after dish onto the table.

“President Qin, I...” she began.

“Meal time is not for discussing business,” Qin Weizhou interrupted, setting down the newspaper, folding his arms, and looking at her. “If you have matters to discuss, wait until after the meal.”

Jiang Shuwei thought that showing her painting amid such a feast wouldn’t be appropriate.

“Alright then, where should I wait for you?” she asked politely.

Qin Weizhou smiled faintly, “Aren’t you hungry, Miss Jiang?”

Jiang Shuwei was about to deny it, but her stomach growled twice, betraying her. She realized she hadn’t eaten breakfast, and the fruit earlier had gone untouched due to her mood. Now, her stomach protested.

“A little,” she admitted, blushing and lowering her head shyly.

The waitstaff had left, and Sun Xuan quietly closed the door behind them. Now, only the two of them were in the dining room.

“Eat,” Qin Weizhou said as he began to pick up his chopsticks and leisurely take some food.

Jiang Shuwei immediately expressed her gratitude, “Thank you for your hospitality, President Qin.”

She also picked up her chopsticks and started eating slowly.

Qin Weizhou glanced at the blushing woman. Her skin was delicate, like a freshly peeled egg—so tender one wanted to pinch it.

Recalling Su Mian’s earlier words, Qin Weizhou frowned.

It was hard to believe Jiang Shuwei had the audacity to coerce He Jingcheng into marriage. Was she really that infatuated?

Setting down his chopsticks, Qin Weizhou lifted a glass of water and took a few sips before saying, “Give me the painting.”

Jiang Shuwei was biting into a piece of meat. Hearing his request, she almost choked and swallowed hard, her face flushed. “President Qin, have you finished eating?”

Qin Weizhou said nothing, only fixed his gaze on her.

Reluctantly, Jiang Shuwei took out the painting and handed it to him. Qin Weizhou unfolded it right before her eyes.

Her heart skipped a beat, overwhelmed by a mixture of shame, confusion, and embarrassment.
