Volume One, Chapter 11: Job Change! Jungle Hunter!
Page 1/3
A green job transfer scroll!?
Li Chuan hurriedly took out the player’s manual from his backpack and began searching through it.
“So that’s it—Berserker, Assassin, and Jungle Hunter are the advanced classes for Warrior, Assassin, and Archer respectively.”
The Berserker follows a high attack, low defense, and high recovery path; the Assassin can turn invisible; and the Jungle Hunter is a hybrid class combining archer and warrior skills.
It has melee skills, can set traps, and also use a bow.
This fits perfectly with my plans!
[ Ding! You have received a new private message. ]
Black Friday: “Hey, why aren’t you replying? I’ll trade you these two for one of yours. Sounds like a good deal for you, right?”
Cold-Blooded (Only Flirts, No Drama): “Well, you know, green weapons are pretty important right now.”
Black Friday: “...”
Black Friday: “Damn it, then I’ll just have to hunt you down to get that dagger.”
Why can’t this guy pick up on my ‘need extra payment’ hint?
Cold-Blooded (Only Flirts, No Drama): “No need for both of us to lose out. I mean, if you add that longsword of yours, then I might consider it.”
Black Friday: “Well, why didn’t you just say so? Such a slowpoke, man.”
Li Chuan felt awkward and silently sent the trade request.
[Li Chuan initiates a trade offer: Wolf Fang Dagger (Green) — Job Transfer Scroll (Green), Standard Crossbow (White), Standard Longsword (White)]
[Black Friday has accepted your trade request.]
Black Friday: “Thanks a lot, mister. Take good care of my stuff—don’t let it fall back into my hands.”
Such a wicked, rebellious girl!
Li Chuan ignored her and took out the green job transfer scroll, clicking to use it.
Good thing I hesitated last night and didn’t transfer classes immediately, otherwise that would’ve been a wasted scroll.
[You have successfully transferred to ‘Jungle Hunter,’ unlocking skills: Melee Weapon Basics (Passive), Ranged Weapon Basics (Passive), Trap Making, Arrow Crafting, Weak Point Strike, Stun Arrow.]
In an instant, countless experiences and memories flooded into Li Chuan’s mind.
“So many skills! Doomsday Survival System, open player status panel.”

[Description: An essential skill for archers.]
Two very practical basic skills—and it feels like, combined with my Probability Glasses, they might be even more effective.
“Weak Point Strike!”
Li Chuan lunged forward with his longsword, sharp and precise.
But his proficiency didn’t increase at all.
So the proficiency for this skill only improves when it actually hits an enemy?
Not convinced, Li Chuan tried a side roll right where he stood.
[Skill ‘Side Roll’ proficiency maxed, level up achieved, current proficiency: Small Achievement 0/100.]
Feels like I can still use it.
Li Chuan was surprised to find that his side roll seemed to have no cooldown.
Then he remembered—it’s not that the cooldown disappeared, it’s that as a Jungle Hunter, his class trait allows him to use the skill three times consecutively without cooldown.
[Side Roll: Blue]
[Proficiency: Small Achievement 0/100]
[Can perform a 360-degree flawless side roll. Class trait activated, allowing three consecutive uses without cooldown.]
[Skill Cost: 1 Mana]
[Cooldown: 3 seconds]

[Description: Don’t underestimate it; this skill can save your life.]
Hiss.
Feels like reaching Small Achievement proficiency hasn’t changed the skill’s description much.
Li Chuan pondered for a moment, then performed three consecutive side rolls, moving like a nimble monkey.
There was a change! Just a slight one—the roll speed increased. What used to take about a second now felt closer to 0.8 seconds.
Blue skills have a huge advantage in the early stages. I really lucked out.
He glanced at the remaining time for his quest.
Less than an hour left to complete Newbie Quest Three.
Looking up at the sky, though the two suns hadn’t risen yet, the horizon had brightened considerably.
Outside, the gray mist was mostly dissipated, and the haunting call that had lingered was now completely gone.
He casually opened the chat channel.
Unordered Island Regional Chat.
Current online players in this area: 323/1000
Li Chuan’s heart tightened.
Before going to sleep, there were over five hundred players still alive. After one night, nearly half had died!
And this is just the newbie period—this mortality rate is terrifying!
Zhou Zhou Cloth Porridge: “Anyone? My firewood’s all gone. Can someone sell me a piece of clothing? I’m freezing to death.”
High Place Too Cold: “I have a set of newbie cloth armor. Trading it to you.”
Zhou Zhou Cloth Porridge: “Thanks so much, big shot! Thank you!”
Willow Waist: “Oh my, what a kind-hearted philanthropist! Just one useless set of newbie cloth armor and you’ve won everyone’s hearts.”
Liu Hair Pillar: “@Willow Waist: You hypocrite, shut up. If you want to be a good person, go help others instead of being salty here.”
Gone in a Snap: “Anyone have useless cloth armor? It’s especially cold here.”
Gone in a Snap: “@Willow Waist, no wonder you’re bitter. Did the big shot hold you back from earning copper coins? Everyone, watch this shameless profiteer demanding fifty copper coins for one piece of cloth armor.”
Liu Hair Pillar: “Oh, I see now. Turns out you’re a heartless merchant.”
...
Soon the channel grew lively again.
Twenty-four hours a day, this channel is filled with quarrels for twenty of those hours.
Sigh.
Cold-Blooded (Only Flirts, No Drama): “Stop fighting, everyone. Let’s talk nicely and not be so hostile.”
The chat fell silent for a good two minutes.
High Place Too Cold: “Are you calling others hostile?”
